Bay Hill Club and Lodge is available on GSPro. The community LIDAR build of Arnold Palmer’s home course — the host of his annual PGA Tour invitational and one of the most recognizable courses in Florida — gives you the full championship routing including the changes made in 2023 to modernize the closing holes.

Bay Hill is a Palmer and Ed Seay design that sits on flat Florida terrain. The course’s defenses are almost entirely in the water hazards — water comes into play on 11 holes — and the wind off the Butler Chain of Lakes. The course is generous off the tee and demanding into the greens. The rough is thick, the greens are fast, and the par-5 16th with its island-green approach is one of the most recognizable shots in Tour golf.

Quality Assessment

The GSPro LIDAR build of Bay Hill is clean. The flat Florida terrain means there is minimal elevation distortion in the scan. The key features — the water hazards, the bunker complexes, and the green contours — all read accurately.

The 18th hole, the 456-yard par-4 with water all down the left side and the lake guarding the front of the green, is the signature. The approach shot needs to carry the water to a two-tiered green where the back-right pin is genuinely scary. The LIDAR build handles this correctly.

The 16th, a 511-yard par-5 with a second shot over water to an island fairway and a third shot over more water to a green surrounded by bunkers, is the risk-reward heart of the round. GSPro physics handle the carry distances well.

Visual quality is standard LIDAR community grade. Bay Hill is a mature Florida course with large oaks and palmettos, and the generic tree textures are serviceable. The course plays better than it looks, which is the correct priority for a LIDAR conversion.

FAQ

Is Bay Hill available on GSPro?

Yes. Bay Hill Club and Lodge in Orlando, Florida is available as a free community-built LIDAR course on the GSPro course server.

How realistic is Bay Hill on GSPro?

The LIDAR build accurately captures the flat Florida terrain, water hazards, and green contours. The 16th island fairway and 18th water-guarded approach are faithfully modeled. Visual textures are standard community grade.

Can I play Bay Hill on other simulator software?

Bay Hill is not currently available as a licensed course on E6 Connect, FSX Play, or Trackman. The GSPro LIDAR build is the only sim version available.

What makes Bay Hill different from other Florida courses on GSPro?

Bay Hill is defined by water hazard placement rather than length or rough. The course is short by modern standards at 7,400 yards but plays long because of the forced carries. The 16th island approach is unique in the GSPro Florida collection.

What wind setting should I use for Bay Hill?

Set wind to Medium. The Butler Chain of Lakes creates shifting winds that make club selection difficult, especially on the closing holes. Medium wind provides the authentic Bay Hill test.

How do I download Bay Hill on GSPro?

Open the GSPro course server, search “Bay Hill,” and click download. It appears under B in your course library.
