The Short Answer
Tralee on E6 Connect — the full review of Arnold Palmer's County Kerry links in E6 simulation. Course quality, the back nine ocean holes, and how to access.
Tralee on E6 Connect is the best Irish links course available in the E6 library. The Tralee Golf Club in County Kerry ranks 60th on the Golf Digest World Top 100, and it carries the distinction of being the only Arnold Palmer-designed links course in the world. The E6 Connect version captures the full drama of the Palmer design, from the 12th-century tower behind the 3rd green to the jaw-dropping back nine that plays along the Atlantic cliffs.
If you own E6 Connect and you have only played Oakmont and Pebble Beach inside the software, you are missing the course that Arnie himself called his finest design. It is also the best Irish course in the E6 library, and it belongs in any serious E6 owner’s rotation.
The Tralee Experience on E6 Connect
Tralee Golf Club was originally founded in 1896, but the course that exists today was completely redesigned by Arnold Palmer and Ed Seay in 1984. Palmer looked at the dunes of County Kerry and saw something that reminded him of Pebble Beach. He routed the front nine through the inland dunes and the back nine along the Atlantic coastline, creating a course that starts well but finishes like a heavyweight championship fight.
The front nine at Tralee is good links golf. The fairways run through tall dunes, the greens are firm and fast, and the par 3s are well-protected. The 3rd hole is a 360-yard par 4 that plays around a 12th-century stone tower that sits behind the green, and the approach shot must carry a swale that collects anything short. The E6 Connect version renders the tower correctly and the green contours are accurate.
The back nine at Tralee is where the course becomes memorable. From the 10th hole onward, the course turns toward the Atlantic and plays along the cliff edge for the remainder of the round. The 13th hole is a 545-yard par 5 that plays directly toward the ocean with the wind usually off the left. The 16th hole is a 380-yard par 4 that plays along a stretch of coastline that was once known as the graveyard of the Spanish Armada, and the approach shot must carry a tidal inlet that protects the green.
The 18th hole is a 405-yard par 4 that plays back toward the clubhouse with the Atlantic on your left and a massive dune ridge on your right. The fairway tilts from right to left, and any approach shot that leaks right will feed into a collection area that makes the up-and-down almost impossible.
Quality Assessment
E6 Connect’s version of Tralee is a licensed LiDAR capture from the TruGolf course library. It is available in the Expanded Subscription tier, which means you need the 600-dollar annual subscription to access it, not just the 300-dollar Basic subscription. The course is not available as a standalone purchase.
The LiDAR data is high quality. The dune topography is accurately rendered, and the back nine cliff-edge holes play as dramatically as they do in real life. The 16th hole approach over the tidal inlet is the standout moment in the E6 version, and the green contours on the 18th hole reward an approach shot that lands short and runs onto the green.
The wind physics on E6 Connect handle the Tralee routing well. The front nine is partially sheltered by the inland dunes, but the back nine is fully exposed to the Atlantic winds. Set wind to Medium for the authentic experience. Without wind, the back nine plays several strokes easier than it should.
The putting physics on E6 Connect are slightly faster than real life, which is a known characteristic of the platform. Adjust your approach shots to land below the hole when possible, because the downhill putts on Tralee’s larger greens can run away from you.
How to Access Tralee on E6 Connect
Tralee Golf Club is available in the E6 Connect Expanded Subscription library. You need the Expanded tier (600 dollars annually) to access it. Search for “Tralee Golf Club” or “Tralee” in the E6 Connect course browser. The course is compatible with all launch monitors that work with E6 Connect, including GC2, GCQuad, GCHawk, and Launch Pro.
The course is also available on TGC 2019 as a community build (Tralee-Ireland by jayjohnson7) and on GSPro as a free community LiDAR build. For E6 owners, this is the only way to play a licensed version without switching platforms.
How Tralee Compares Across Platforms
Tralee is available on GSPro (free community build), TGC 2019 (community build), and E6 Connect (licensed Expanded Subscription). The GSPro version has excellent LiDAR data and is free if you own GSPro. The TGC 2019 version is a community build by jayjohnson7 that captures the routing and signature holes.
The E6 Connect version is the only licensed capture of Tralee in simulation. It has professional LiDAR data, accurate green contours, and integration into the E6 Connect ecosystem. For E6 owners with the Expanded Subscription, this is the best Irish course in the library and one of the best reasons to maintain the subscription.
Tralee is not available on Trackman, FSX Play, or WGT.
