Harbour Town is the course that changed Pete Dye’s career. Before Harbour Town, Dye was a respected architect. After Harbour Town, he was the architect that every tournament wanted.

The course sits on Hilton Head Island, South Carolina, and it plays through a forest of live oaks and pines, along the marshes, and out to the sound. The fairways are the tightest on the PGA Tour. The greens are small and complex. The course demands precision over power.

On E6 Connect, the officially licensed version captures the tree-lined corridors, the marsh carries, and the lighthouse that defines the 18th hole.

What Tier You Need

Harbour Town is in the Expanded tier ($600/year). It requires the full library subscription. If you are on the Core tier ($300/year), check the current rotation.

For a full breakdown of every tier, read the Best Courses on E6 Connect guide.

Why Harbour Town Works on E6

Harbour Town is a precision course. The fairways are narrow, the trees are tight, and the greens reward accuracy over distance. E6’s official LIDAR data captures the subtle movement of the land and the marsh terrain.

The course is flat by Hilton Head standards, but the elevation changes are present. The fairway contours affect the lies. The greens are tilted and sloped, and the LIDAR captures the internal movement.

The water hazards are the defining feature. The Calibogue Sound is in play on the final holes, and the marsh comes into play on multiple holes. E6’s water rendering is the best in sim golf, and Harbour Town benefits from it.

How to Access It

Open E6 Connect. Navigate to the course library. Search for “Harbour Town” or “Harbour Town Golf Links.” Select the course and load it.

The Holes That Shine

The 5th Hole — The Par 4 with the Marsh: A 420-yard par 4 that requires a precise drive between the trees and over the marsh. The approach is to a green protected by bunkers and the marsh on the right. On E6, the marsh carry is intimidating and the green reads as difficult as the real version.

The 10th Hole — The Short Par 4: A 360-yard par 4 that requires a lay-up short of the marsh or a heroic carry. The green is elevated and protected by bunkers. On E6, the decision to lay up or go for it is the same as on the real course.

The 17th Hole — The Par 3 Over the Marsh: A 180-yard par 3 that plays over the marsh to a green protected by bunkers. The wind is always a factor. On E6, this hole requires the correct club selection and the nerve to hit it.

The 18th Hole — The Lighthouse Finisher: The most famous finishing hole in South Carolina. A 450-yard par 4 that plays along the Calibogue Sound with the Harbour Town Lighthouse in the background. The fairway is tight, the water is on the left, and the green is protected by bunkers. On E6, this hole is the reason you bought the software.

How It Compares to Other Versions

GSPro has community builds of Harbour Town that are excellent. The tight tree-lined fairways work well with LIDAR data. The lighthouse is rendered well.

E6’s version is professionally licensed with higher resolution data and more accurate green contours. The water rendering on the 18th hole is superior. If you are playing Harbour Town for the experience, the E6 version is the one to use.

The Value

Harbour Town is included in the Expanded tier. It is one of the most playable and rewarding courses in the E6 library. The RBC Heritage setup is the default configuration, and the course plays exactly as it does on Tour.
