Square Omni Shipping: Now in the Wild, Preorders Clear
PlayBetter Preorders Begin Shipping as Reviews Hit the Web
The Short Answer
PlayBetter has updated its messaging to July 2026. US preorders are now shipping alongside the first wave of reviews. The Omni is out there.
What is the Square Golf Omni? A 4-camera overhead launch monitor at $1,599 with zero subscription fees. Directly measured spin, indoor + outdoor use, GSPro and E6 compatible. Most disruptive LM of 2026. European customers (GolfBays) received stock in June. US PlayBetter preorders are still delayed into July — the product is real and works, but US fulfillment is behind.
June came and went. The Square Golf Omni was supposed to ship in June.
And some of them did. GolfBays had stock. European customers got their units. The Omni exists in the wild — you can find first impressions in forums, YouTube unboxings, even a few early reviews. The product is real. The product works.
But if you preordered from PlayBetter in the US? You’re probably still waiting.
What Actually Happened
The timeline as best I can piece it together:
- May 2026: Square Golf tells their German distributor about a 2-week manufacturing delay. Communication is internal, not public. Some preorder windows slip.
- May-June 2026: GolfBays (European distributor) receives stock and begins fulfilling orders. European customers get their Omnis.
- Late June 2026: PlayBetter’s standalone product page still says “expecting to ship in June 2026.” No updated messaging. No delay notice to preorder customers.
- June 30, 2026: The deadline passes. PlayBetter still hasn’t shipped US preorders. The product page copy remains unchanged.
- July 2026 (now): Some units are in the wild. US preorders remain unfulfilled. No public timeline from Square Golf or PlayBetter about when the next batch arrives.
Update (early July): PlayBetter has partially updated their messaging. The BYO SimStudio package page now says “expecting to ship in July 2026” — acknowledging the shift from June. But the standalone product page and the complete package page still show “June 2026.” The update is inconsistent, which tells me the communication is still being sorted out internally. If you ordered from the BYO page, you got the update. If you ordered from the standalone product page, you’re still seeing June.
This is a soft miss, not a hard failure. Square Golf didn’t completely miss — they shipped to some channels. But the main US retail partner (PlayBetter) is still sitting on preorders, and the communication has been… quiet.
What This Means for Omni Buyers
If you’re waiting on a PlayBetter preorder, the product is worth the wait. I’ve spent time with the Omni. Four cameras at $1,599 with zero subscription fees. Directly measured spin. Indoor and outdoor use. GSPro and E6 compatible. It’s the most disruptive launch monitor of 2026. If you ordered one, you made the right call — check my full Square Golf Omni review for the detailed breakdown.
But the wait sucks and the silence is frustrating. Square Golf is a first-generation company breaking into a market dominated by Foresight, Bushnell, and SkyTrak. Manufacturing delays happen. What matters is communication. The German distributor communicated (they told customers about the 2-week delay in May). PlayBetter has been quieter than I’d like.
Other channels may have stock. If you’re not locked into a PlayBetter preorder, check GolfBays directly or other international retailers. Some units are out there.
How the Omni Compares to What You Could Buy Today
If you can’t wait, here’s what’s available right now:
| Product | Price | Status | Best For |
|---|---|---|---|
| Square Golf Omni | $1,599 | Limited availability, preorder wait | Best value multi-camera LM, no subs |
| Square Golf HE | $699 | In stock everywhere | Budget photometric, 2 cameras, portable |
| SkyTrak+ | $1,995 | In stock | Best camera under $2K, large community |
| Bushnell Launch Pro | $2,499 | In stock | Foresight triscopic, tour-validated |
| Garmin R10 | $499 | In stock | Cheapest entry, radar, portable |
The Square Golf HE is available right now and offers the same ecosystem, same software compatibility, same zero-subscription philosophy — just with two cameras instead of four. It’s $699 and you can get it today. The Omni is better (four cameras means measured spin, more metrics, better accuracy), but the HE is a good alternative if you need a sim now.
Where Things Stand
The Omni ships. Some are already in garages. But PlayBetter preorders are behind schedule, and the company hasn’t been great about communicating the timeline.
This doesn’t change my recommendation. The Omni is still the best value in camera-based launch monitors at $1,599, and a few weeks of delay won’t matter a year from now when you’re hitting balls in January. But it’s worth knowing where things stand before you wire your money.

I’ll update this when the PlayBetter shipments actually land. In the meantime, the Omni is real, it’s good, and it’s coming.
