Is the SkyTrak+ still available for purchase?
Yes, but barely. SkyTrak.com still lists the SkyTrak+ at $1,995 (down from $2,995) with approximately 113 units remaining in stock as of July 15, 2026. The product page still says “This launch monitor is no longer available” — meaning it’s discontinued and remaining inventory is being cleared. Once these units are gone, there will be no more new SkyTrak+ units. Certified Pre-Owned units are also available through PlayBetter at $1,495.
Three weeks ago, SkyTrak confirmed the Plus was done. The product page flipped to “no longer available.” The price dropped to $1,995 — a full $1,000 off the original $2,995 MSRP. And the ST MAX took over at $2,995 as the successor.
Since then, the inventory has been ticking down. The page showed 113 units in stock when I checked on July 15. That number will be lower by the time you read this.
The Math on What’s Left
The SkyTrak+ launched in 2023 at $2,995. It used a hybrid dual-Doppler radar and photometric camera system that gave it an edge over pure radar units like the Garmin R10 and Rapsodo MLM2PRO. The camera saw the ball at impact, which meant it measured spin axis directly instead of estimating it from ball flight. That was the whole reason to buy one over the cheaper options.
The ST MAX replaced it at the same $2,995 price point. The core tracking tech is identical. The MAX adds a second USB-C port (charge and data simultaneously), a redesigned housing, and better alignment marks. The accuracy, the software compatibility, the data metrics — all the same.
At $1,995, the SkyTrak+ is $1,000 cheaper than the ST MAX for the same performance. If you’ve been sitting on the fence, the question is which matters more: saving the money or getting the current hardware.
The CPO Option
PlayBetter is still running their Certified Pre-Owned program at $1,495. That’s $500 under the new clearance price and $1,500 under the ST MAX. The CPO units come with the same warranty as new ones, according to PlayBetter’s listing. If you’re on a tight budget and don’t care about having the latest housing design, the CPO path is the better value play.
What Happens When Stock Runs Out
When the 113 units are gone, the SkyTrak+ will only be available on the used market. The ST MAX at $2,995 is the only new unit SkyTrak sells at that price tier. The original SkyTrak (OG) is still available at $695 as a budget option, but it’s a significantly older unit with less accuracy and fewer features.
The third-party market will absorb the remaining demand. Expect used SkyTrak+ units to hover around $1,200-$1,500 depending on condition and accessories. The CPO program through PlayBetter sets a floor at $1,495 for a guaranteed-functional unit.
The Decision
If you want a SkyTrak+, buy it now. The stock is real and it’s running out. At $1,995, you’re getting the same tech as the $2,995 ST MAX for a thousand less. The only trade-off is the older housing and single USB-C port. If that doesn’t bother you, this is the best deal on a mid-range launch monitor with measured spin data.
If you can’t swing $1,995, the CPO units at $1,495 are the next best option. And if you want the newest hardware, the ST MAX at $2,995 is waiting.
Pick your price point. The clock is running.
